Update: Yesi is now getting around, going to school, doing normal activities and came to our VBS this year! We were so happy that she could attend and that she has been healing and recovering. She and her family have been through a lot, and attribute the healing power to the Lord Jesus Christ, as they are a believing family. Praise God for this miracle and keep praying for Yesi and her family as they adjust to the new normal.

Let us direct our affections and adoration and praise to God, the creator of heaven and earth and all that is therein. He gives us strength and life and every breath is a gift from Him. May we point others to Him, as all we have to do is look to His creation and we can see that there is a creator..who is in control.  May we be wise, and carefully live our lives soberly and vigilant, because our adversary is out to steal, kill and destroy. Do not be weary in well doing, but continue to fight the good fight and run the race, for His kingdom's sake.

Greetings from Amherst, VA! We are very busy with our Church, family, work, and all that it entails. 


We had a send off/communion for the Rodney's recently as they are going back to Niger to minister after being back in VA for the past several months. Then Nathan's go to Nicaragua for a couple of weeks and will be back then in a couple of years planning on going back. We miss them, but we want the work of the Lord to go on!

 We had our annual DFC Ladies's Retreat in Stuart's Draft this year at Sadie's House. She was so generous to let us use her wonderful accommodations!

The Dayspring ladies had a wonderful ladies retreat and guest speaker Naomi talking about her struggle with cancer and how the Lord is sustaining her and teaching her to trust in Him. Also a lady from church spoke about her various experiences in the mission field which was very inspiring and glorifying to God in working through her life in the midst of trials. What I took away: God is faithful and only He can give us the strength to go on. If we try to do things in our own strength ultimately it will not come out right and we will need to go through God's classroom again. To overcome fear and not be overcome by it is huge for someone battling with the unknown and the uncertain future. It comes down to trust. God knows our beginning and end and will be there with us until the end. May we walk this path of life in light of this truth and walk in truth. For everything is for Him and by Him and to Him forever amen!

We are thankful for Naomi and Careesa being willing to share with us and their transparency in reliving their stories. May the Lord bless you both abundantly for your willingness to lay down your lives for Jesus' namesake.

A special thank you to the Fitzgeralds for opening their spacious and cozy living room for the retreat. Also for all those who helped prepare serve and cleanup the food. And our greatfulness and gratitude goes to Brenda S. for all her thoughtful planning and organizing of the retreat. Laura assisted, but Brenda was the brains of the operation. It was a blessed time of sharing, bonding, serving, connecting, wonderful food and fellowship!

 

Meet Nick Vujicic, an extraordinary person founder of  Life without Limbs who has inspired the world and has with God's strength has been motivated to live his life to the fullest, even more so than most people with limbs. May you be blessed and challenged!

Thank you dear Lord for another day you have given me. The warm sunshine, air to breath, another day to live and serve you. You are so gracious, long suffering and loving...May I always give you all the glory, honor and obediance that you deserve. You have been so good to me...Help me to walk in your ways, for my ways are not yours. Help me to walk this pilgrim way and remember that this earth is not my home. May I point others to you, your son Jesus Christ, the savior of the world who takes away sin and helps us to live above sin.
