Ok, so I'm not cooking now, but that's what hubby asks on his way home at times, "cliff" short for Clifford near where we live. We have had this grill that's been sitting around for a long time we got off the side of the road in our neighborhood....I was on the verge of taking it to the SPCA, my fav place to get rid of stuff, then I started thinking of things to plant my flowers in...And why not? If I can use old tires....
In the back yard I used the old seed spreader that was sitting around and not being of good use and, viola! A perfect addition beside my birdbath planter!
Ok, ya'll...I asked hubby what he thought of the old grill with the flowers, and he said, well it doesn't look any worse than the sink with the flowers in the front of the house! Another neighbor said, all you need now is the the toilet! Hmmmm.......
Just loving my sweet flowers coming up...

Pictured Some of my new roses I got from the Saunders Plant sale. I'm a novice when it comes to roses and for the longest time have given up on having them as what I did have died. But I'm giving it a chance again. I got 4 rose plants. One pale pink, one yellow with orange textures, one lavender purple and can't remember what the other one was. It's not in bloom at the moment. My pale pink one is currently bloomless and the yellow one is in full bloom. The purple one has a couple of blooms. I have to spray them for fungus because a couple of them are already showing signs of "rust" on the leaves. I fertilized and bugged with a 2 in one when I planted them a couple of weeks ago. So, at least I can take pictures for now and enjoy them while I have them...I eyed a couple of climbing rose bushes last week that looked good. If I can get a big trellis made, just maybe......What are are your gardening thoughts?
Just a little sneak peak for the big tomatoe blitz that will happen when the tomatoes are all in for the salsa and spaghetti sauce. I had waited until I had enough to warrant quartering and putting in freezer bags to freeze until I am ready for the grand finale. Mark was generous enough to help me out and it made quick work of it..I'm not sure how many pounds we did (ended up with over 5 gallon bags), but they were beautiful tomatoes and the garden has been doing wonderful. Tomatoes are coming in, full swing. I've been selling some of them, cherry tomatoes, ocra, cukes, beans, banana peppers and sweet bread at some local shops and doing well. It helps offset the investment of seed and plants and gas money. The best part of freezing tomatoes is that you don't have to blanch them, just cut and pack and when you take them out to use, the skins come off that much easier. So, that's all for now.
