A Nice Sunny Saturday...Made Trailmix

10:21 PM

 Made some Trailmix today

Assembled Ingredients
Mark and a friend from church went hiking today so I commensed to make some trailmix.

Here are the ingredients:
-2 C  or more
Mixed Nuts
(Almonds, Walnuts, Peanuts, Cashews, Brazil Nuts, Pine Nuts)
-1/2 C or more each
Dehydrated: Apples, Pineapple, Cranberries, Mango, Blueberries, Banana Chips
-Raisens, Dates, coconut, raisinettes, chocolate chips

I chopped the bigger fruit into smaller pieces with my handheld chopper ma bob.

Finished Product!
Mark said there was snow up there and he'd wish he had his boots on. It was windy too, and even though the sun was out, it was kind of cold. I'm glad I stayed home. I had to rest (take a nap with Graylin) in the basement with the woodstove.

Snowball is just sooooo cute on daddy's lap. Mark said we ought to call this place "Lap Cat Inn"!
Have a blessed Sunday everyone and a good week coming up!

  2. The trail mix looks yummy. My boys would make a similar version when they were in scouts and would go hiking although, they would add mini m&m's instead of chocolate chips.

  3. Hello Laura! I was just about to go in and post a blog entry for Prim Chat when I saw that I had a new follower.:) So pleased to meet you, and I am following you now too!
Your Trail Mix looks great, love things like that. I have a GREAT granola bar recipe that the men like to take hunting in the fall...will post it one day. Looking forward to getting to know you.

  4. Good Morning Laura Sweetie...
Oh what a beautiful share. I have never made Trail Mix, and with 8 grands, I am thrilled to have it. It would also be wonderful for my youngest son when he goes hunting early in the morning. A little pick me up along the way.

Love that Snowball. So precious and his/her coloring is just gorgeous. I think Mark might have hit the nail on the head, do a post called Lap Cat Inn. Show some of these beautiful critters in you alls laps.

How is the weather today? Cold still. Yesterday we had a high of 78 and we are expecting another one today. I will soak in some Vitamin D for you while I am out there as well.

Have a blessed day sweetie. Many hugs and much love, Sherry

Dee Begg: Thanks for stopping in! I love that healthy stuff! Mark's the one who has initially inspired me along with others to eat healthier and make my own bread, buy in bulk to make all kinds of stuff and have it on hand.

Nancy D: Thanks for coming over! Glad to have you!

Sherry Sweetie: Wow!78 degrees...My husband would love to have had that to sun in. Behind the house discretly, that is.We could all use a good dose of "D".

  6. Hi Laura, Thanks for the nice comments. I love the bluebird in your header, bluebirds are one of my favorite birds - cardinals are the other favorite.
As to why I started blogging, I'm not exactly sure about that, LOL. I love to read other blogs and it's so nice to find people with the same likes and beliefs. I really don't get out much, mostly just go to church or the grocery store, so it's fun having another "place" to visit every day. We did have good church services yesterday, Pastor finished up the book of Ruth last night. Ruth is my favorite lady in the Bible!
    Have a great day!
